Versus Finance Limited is proud to support the Jersey Lifeboat Association’s “Name on the Boat” campaign, helping to raise funds to keep the lifeboat Sir Max operational and Jersey’s waters safe.
Versus Finance Limited is honoured to have its name featured on Sir Max, joining a wide range of individuals and businesses united in supporting the vital work of the Jersey Lifeboat Association (JLA). The JLA is a dedicated volunteer-run charity that operates around the clock, every day of the year, providing essential lifesaving services and ensuring the safety of all who navigate Jersey’s waters. Through the “Lega-sea” campaign, supporters can have their names proudly displayed on the lifeboat in return for a donation, which directly contributes to the ongoing maintenance, operation, and equipment needs of the lifeboats.
Officially established in 2018, the Jersey Lifeboat Association was formed by a group of passionate volunteers and local supporters committed to providing a reliable, independent lifeboat service for Jersey. The JLA was recognized as an official Search and Rescue Organisation in 2019 and has since been delivering vital maritime safety services to the island community.
In contrast, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), from which the JLA’s founders have historic ties, was founded on 4 March 1824 and recently celebrated its 200th anniversary. While the RNLI boasts over two centuries of experience, the JLA, now approximately seven years old, has quickly become an essential part of Jersey’s maritime safety network.
Marco Fernandes, Director of Versus Finance Limited, commented on the initiative:
“Supporting the Jersey Lifeboat Association is a true honour. Their commitment to protecting our community embodies values we hold dear – courage, dedication, and service. We are proud to have our name on Sir Max and to back this incredible cause.”
Versus Finance extends its sincere thanks to the Jersey Lifeboat Association and applauds all the volunteers who generously dedicate their time and expertise to keep the island safe. The company encourages other islanders and businesses to consider supporting this vital community initiative.
